Bogie in New Zealand
In the spring of 2001, I
saw a picture on the internet of a brindle puppy girl by the name of Kiwi, who
had been imported to the US from New Zealand. It was love at first sight!!! Her
conformation was to me everything that our standard described the ideal boxer to
be!! I began to research to find out the possibility of my obtaining a puppy
from this kennel and these lines!!
I was put in touch with the breeder, Shirley Gempton of Siaradus Kennels in New Zealand, and began what has become a real close friendship, albeit long distance! Shirley, having bred and shown boxers for many many years, is a wealth of knowledge and just a genuinely nice person!! Those traits in combination have led me to purchase not one but two brindle girls out of her kennel, Raven and Kiwi, and to fulfill her dream of having an American boxer boy to add to her breeding program.
Shirley was immediately smitten with our Bogie! Having already used him several times in our own breeding, and understanding the need for diversity in a breeding program, I agreed to begin the long and tedious task of all the testing, etc., that would be required to send Bogie to Shirley in New Zealand; where he would become a part of her breeding program and a part of her family!
Bogie arrived in New
Zealand in January 2002!!!
